Comic legend Arthur Smith is to play beat legend William Burroughs onstage.
Smith will take on the role for one night only on May 27 in the final performance of Cosmic Trigger at The Cockpit in Marylebone, London.
The author is being played by a rotating group of guest cameos, including Reverend D. Wayne Love from Alabama 3, who plays Burroughs on May 23 & 24, author Alistair Fruish, poet, activist and urban shaman John Constable and the Cockpit's artist director, Dave Wybrow. In the play, Burroughs is visiting Wilson in the Playboy Offices where Wilson was an editor, just before the Democratic Convention in Chicago where Burroughs spoke and riots broke out.
