BAFTA-winning comedian Iain Stirling returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe fresh from narrating series Love Island and hosting brand-new show CelebAbility. Looking at the impact new world instant gratification has on our ability to find long term happiness, U Ok Hun? will be his sixth Fringe hour. Following the festival he is set to embark on a nationwide tour.
Stirling's latest TV show, CelebAbility, is a new ITV2 physical comedy entertainment show which sees celebrities and members of the public go head-to-head in rounds of games. A well-known face on television, Love Island and CelebAbility add to an extensive list of credits including Virtually Famous (E4), Drunk History and Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central (both Comedy Central), Russell Howard’s Good News and Sweat the Small Stuff (both BBC Three) and Fake Reactionand Safe Word (both ITV2).
He has co-written and hosted four series of comedy panel show The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC), which saw him win 2017’s Children’s BAFTA Best Presenter Award (2017) and following three nominations scoop 2016’s BAFTA Scotland’s Best Programme Award. Celebrity guest panellists on the show have included Romesh Ranganathan, Joel Dommett and Susan Calman.
A regular voice on the radio, he has appeared on programmes including The Now Show and Dilemma (both BBC Radio 4), Afternoon Edition and Fighting Talk (both BBC Radio 5 Live), Cel Spellman (BBC Radio One) and recorded a Radio One takeover.
