Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders reunited last night at the Colston Hall in Bristol to receive Aardman Slapstick Comedy Legend Awards.

The event was the Bristol Slapstick Festival's fastest selling event. Also pictured are Mel Giedroyc and Dame June Whitfield, who paid tribute to the duo in person.

Messages of congratulations also came from, among others, Barry Cryer, Miranda Hart, Griff Rhys Jones, Matt Lucas and Ruby Wax.

Joanna Lumley sent a video message in which she confessed to telling a white lie to avoid appearing on French and Saunders' BBC sketch show.
