Andrew Maxwell is to be the host of a new Radio 4 show that features stand-ups from all over the world being beamed in via new technology.

Welcome To Wherever You Are refuses to be limited by mere geography when booking guests.

The show, produced by Ed Morrish, will be recorded in front of an audience at the BBC Radio Theatre, with guests, regardless of where they happen be at the time - from Sydney to St Petersburg to Sao Paolo - introduced and interviewed by Andrew Maxwell. The Irish comedian will be arriving by bus.

The full line-up has not been revealed but a pilot was recorded last year featuring Sakdiyah Ma'ruf, Igor Meerson and Guy Branum
