ITV2’s multi-award winning comedy Plebs has been commissioned for a fourth series and goes into production this week.
Plebs charts the antics of three under-achievers Marcus, Stylax and their slave Grumio, all of whom are desperate to live the “when in Rome” maxim to the full. The show witnesses their struggles to cope with life's eternal challenges, as well as typically Roman ones such as chariot lessons, toga fashion and, of course, orgy etiquette.
Over a million viewers regularly tuned in across the first three series making it the highest rated British scripted comedy on multichannel.
Casting and storylines will be confirmed nearer transmission in Spring 2018. The previous cast has included Joel Fry (Game of Thrones, White Van Man), Tom Rosenthal (Friday Night Dinner), Ryan Sampson (Up The Women), Sophie Colquhoun (Captain America: The First Avenger, The Inbetweeners Movie), Lydia Rose Bewley (Drifters, The Inbetweeners Movies), Doon Mackichan (Smack the Pony, Psychobitches, Toast of London) and Karl Theobald (Green Wing, Twenty Twelve).
