Leading independent distributor all3media International has signed a licensing deal with Hulu for the US streaming video on-demand rights to Objective Media’s GameFace. The complete first season of the contemporary dramedy series will become available to stream in the US this autumn, only on Hulu.
The first series of GameFace, which will premiere on the UK’s E4 later this year, is created, written by and starring Edinburgh award-winning Roisin Conaty (Life on the Road; Live at the Apollo). It follows Marcella (Conaty) as she spiritedly crashes her way through life, assisted by her dubious life-coach, best friends and ever-patient driving instructor. Bouncing back from a seismic break-up, clinging on to her dreams of becoming an actress, and - when she remembers her lessons - finally learning to drive, Marcella is on a mission to change her future for the better.
Roisin Conaty said, “I'm really happy that GameFace will be airing on Hulu. I'm so excited that an American audience is going to get a chance to see the show I've worked so hard on.”
The original pilot episode of GameFace aired in the UK in April 2014, garnering rave reviews. The six-part series is made by Objective Fiction (Fresh Meat, Peep Show, Witless) and was commissioned by C4 Comedy Commissioning Editor, Rachel Springett. Executive Producer for Objective is Ben Farrell, Producer is Charlotte Lewis and Director is Andrew Chaplin. The international sales were negotiated by All3media International.
GameFace also stars Pauline McLynn (Father Ted, Shameless), Francis Magee (Witless, Game of Thrones, Rogue One), Dylan Edwards (Wasted, Pramface), Damien Molony (Crashing, Being Human), Nina Toussaint-White (Uncle, Emmerdale), Karl Theobald (Green Wing, Plebs), Dustin Demri Burns (Cardinal Burns, Psychobitches) and comedian Caroline Ginty.
