Following a massive refit, the team behind the Scottish Comedy Awards has joined forces with gourmet restaurants La Rotunda, Yen Oriental & Mezze to launch Scotland's largest comedy club.
Formerly the entrance to the old Clyde Tunnel, situated next to the Finnieston Crane & SSE Hydro, the Rotunda is an iconic Glasgow building. Every Friday and Saturday evening the 300 capacity venue will feature a variety of top stand-up comedians. Award winners, TV stars, comics you've never heard of home grown talent and international acts - all amazing and supremely funny!
Since Jongleurs closed the city has been without a proper comedy club where you can also enjoy dinner, late night cocktails and dancing. It all starts this weekend (6/7 Oct) with former Channel 4 Big Breakfast host Paul Tonkinson (Michael McIntyre’s tour warm-up guy), and reigning Scottish Comedian of the Year Rosco Mclelland.
Over the next few weeks Scottish Comedy Award winners Gary Little, Scott Agnew and Susie McCabe will be joined by Mark Nelson (dad of 3-year-old internet sensation Isla) and former Scottish Comedian of the Year Larry Dean who has just recorded the latest series of BBC Live At The Apollo.
In November Iain Stirling The Voice of ITV2's Love Island will host the Scottish Comedian of the Year Final.
In December the Rotunda Comedy Club will host Christmas dinner and show parties featuring a host of Scottish Comedy Award winners and TV stars.
