Actor Bill Cashmore, who appeared in a number of classic comedy shows, has died. He was 56.
Cashmore appeared in various sketches in the Stewart Lee and Richard Herring BBC series Fist of Fun in 1994 & 1995, most notably as "The Piemaster".
He also appeared in Brass Eye, The Day Today, Men Behaving Badly and the children's series Knightmare, in which he played Honesty Bartram, Snapper-Jack and Bhal-Shebah.
He was also a successful playwright and public speaker and had been a member of the Cambridge Footlights. He stood as a candidate for the Green Party for the constituency of Chelsea and Fulham in the last General Election.
