Lucy Beaumont and Maureen Lipman star in a third series of this acclaimed sitcom about a mother and daughter desperately trying to make ends meet in the cutthroat world of hairdressing in the North East of England. 

Sophie has qualified as a professional hair stylist so she can finally leave Hull and make her fortune in London. But her mother Sheila can't abide the idea of Sophie being swallowed up in the big city and so will do anything to thwart her ambitions, even when Sophie meets the man of her dreams...
