Camping, the dark comedy by Julia Davis, is to be remade in America by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner.
According to Variety Jennifer Garner, who played CIA agent Sydney Bristow in Alias, is to star in the eight-episode show to be made by HBO and written by Dunham and Konner. Variety says "the series tells the story of Walt’s 45th birthday, which was supposed to be a delightful weekend back to nature, at least according to his obsessively organized and aggressively controlling wife Kathryn. But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn’s meek sister, holier than thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited Tagalong in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman on woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten."
The orignal series which went out on Sky Atlantic co-starred Davis, Vicki Pepperdine, Steve Pemberton, Rufus Jones, Jonathan Cake, Elizabeth Berrington and David Bamber. The US version stars Jennifer Garner, David Tennant, Janicza Bravo, Arturo Del Puerto, Brett Gelman, Juliette Lewis, Ione Skye and Cheyenne Haynes
