News: Bullseye Star Jim Bowen Has Died

Comedian Jim Bowen has died. He was 80 years old.

Bowen, from Lancashire, was best known for fronting the darts-based game show Bullseye.

Before becoming a full-time comedian he was a deputy headmaster. Seeing Ken Dodd inspired him to try his hand at stand-up.

In the 1960s he built up his reputation on the club circuit and after finding fame on the Granada TV stand-up show The Comedians he began presenting Bullseye in 1981 and became known for his catchphrases including "look at what you could have won."

Bowen also appeared in Muck and Brass, Jonathan Creek, The Grimleys and Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights.
