The series begins this month on BBC Two as the BBC commemorates the 70th anniversary of the NHS.
Battling it out are eight teams consisting of three junior doctors from different teaching hospitals across the country. Showcasing medical excellence, each episode consists of five compelling rounds which will reveal the wonders of modern medicine and the human body. Each episode sees two hospitals go head to head, with the two highest-scoring winning teams from the week returning for Friday’s final. The winners will be taking home the coveted golden stethoscope and the prestigious title of Britain’s Best Junior Doctors.
Commissioned for BBC Two by Kate Phillips, Controller, Entertainment Commissioning, the commissioning editor is Kalpna Patel-Knight. Made by Shiver, the ITV Studios’ label, the series is produced by Steve Biggs with Richard Hastings as executive producer.
