News: Second Series For Geoff Lloyd's Hometown Glory With More Comedy Guests

National digital radio station Union JACK has confirmed that Geoff Lloyd’s Hometown Glory will be returning for a second series, with the first episode of the new series launching next Saturday 7 July at 11am. The series will include five episodes in total, each of which will also be available as a podcast.

The interview series, in which broadcaster Geoff Lloyd takes a selection of high-profile guests on a journey down memory lane with the aid of Google Maps, will see names including comedians Phill Jupitus, Mark Steel and Andy Hamilton, ex-Sex Pistol Glen Matlock and TV personality Anne Hegerty (Governess of ITV’s gameshow The Chase) confront their days of old, discussing pivotal moments from their past.

Hometown Glory first broadcast on Union JACK earlier this year, when comedians including Tom Allen and Nick Helm shared their comical stories with listeners. The series was so well-received - reaching number seven in the iTunes Comedy Chart - that it was quickly re-commissioned by the popular radio station, with another stellar list of talent lined up to star in the second run.

Speaking of the second series, Union JACK’s CEO Ian Walker said: “Geoff Lloyd’s Hometown Glory was a big hit with our listeners, so we’re excited to see a second series with another provocative talent line up. If you like a laugh, then this is definitely going to be one for you.”

Geoff Lloyd is a multi-award-winning presenter and writer, best known for his 18-year stint on Virgin/Absolute Radio, as well as for the hit podcast Reasons to be Cheerful, which he co-hosts with former Labour leader, Ed Miliband.

Union JACK launched just over a year ago and has made its name as a pioneering radio brand, playing exclusively British music and comedy, handing over the choice of music to its audience, and operating without a DJ at the helm.

Union JACK is available across the UK on digital radio, online at unionjack.co.uk and via the Union JACK app.
