David Tennant, Kylie Minogue and Adam Hills are among the guests who will appear with the Muppets when they appear live at the 02 Arena in London on July 13 & 14.
The celebrities will join the Muppets onstage for all-new sketches, songs and other nonsense.
On Friday, pop queen Kylie Minogue, actor and comedian Kevin Bishop and acting legend Charles Dance join the fun, while an all new episode of Pigs In Space will feature the 10th Doctor Who, David Tennant.
Going back in time for Saturday, Pigs In Space will welcome the 5th Doctor Who Peter Davison, while comedian and presenter Adam Hills will star alongside Kermit, Piggy and the gang, with Steps and another acting hero, Anthony Head, completing the line up.
“We’re thrilled and thankful to all these stars for joining us for The Muppets Take The O2,” said Kermit the Frog. “I’m sure the audience will have the time of their lives. And I promise that no celebrities will be harmed in the making of this once-in-a-lifetime event, so long as they don’t get between Miss Piggy and the audience.”
“Moi’s fabulous performance alone is worth coming to The Muppets Take the 02,” said Miss Piggy. “But I am delighted that so many of my famous friends are coming to join us on stage, to entertain my fans and, of course, to give moi a standing ovation.”
This exclusive European show - following a hugely successful trio of sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl last year - is the first time The Muppets have ever performed their full live extravaganza outside of the USA. The O2 will become a place where Muppets and humans come together to share a special hilarious and heart-tugging connection.
Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will be joined by the whole gang for musical performances, sketches and more. Highlights of the show include Miss Piggy in a show-stopping diva-worthy musical extravaganza, a rocking musical jam by The Muppets’ legendary house band Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem, with legendary drummer Animal. Plus, all-new original versions of classic Muppet Show sketches - Pigs in Space, Veterinarian's Hospital and Muppet Labs - and many, many more extraordinary surprises.
Since 1955, Kermit the Frog and The Muppets have been entertaining the world. In movies, on television, on the internet, and now live on stage. Over the years, The Muppets have done just what they set out to do: sing, dance and make people happy.
Under the often times steady, but frequently frantic leadership of Kermit the Frog, The Muppets have made eight theatrical motion pictures, countless television specials and appearances and, of course, that international mahna-mahna.... excuse us, we mean “phenomena”....The Muppet Show.
