Hat Trick Productions is making a brand new comedy quiz about football, called ‘Football Genius’ for ITV1.

The show will be hosted by Tim Vine, who will be joined by team captains Olympic hockey player Sam Quek and stand-up Paul Sinha, who is also general knowledge boffin The Sinnerman on The Chase.

Sam Quek tweeted: "VERY EXCITED that @ITV has commissioned “Football Genius” & EVEN MORE EXCITED to be a Team Captain! I’m gonna kick @paulsinha ‘s butt every episode!"

Members of the public will also get to take part. Two teams of football-loving fans will compete against each other across a virtual pitch, proving what they do and do not know about the beautiful game in the hope of taking home the ‘Football Genius’ Trophy.
