Presenter Jonathan Ross is to join Comedy Central's Roast Battle UK judging panel alongside host Jimmy Carr and judge Katherine Ryan for the second series of the hit stand-up roast show.
“We’re beyond thrilled to have Jonathan joining the stellar team of Jimmy and Katherine as his quick-witted brand of comedy makes him a great fit for the show,” Louise Holmes, Vice President, General Manager, Comedy Central UK commented. “Jonathan is a hugely loved British star; we know fans of the show will be just as excited as we are.”
The five stand-alone episodes will continue to involve a mixture of top comedians and new faces going head to head in an attempt to ‘take down’ their opponent. Each episode will culminate in one comedian being crowned the winner by the unforgiving judging panel. The series will continue to be co-produced by Fulwell 73 and IDEASATRON and will air later this autumn on Comedy Central UK.
The first series, which aired earlier this year in January, proved a programming hit for the channel, smashing all previous ratings records and becoming Comedy Central’s highest-rated UK commission in its history. Overall, the series was up +317% for Adults 000s and up +367% for 1634s 000s vs. slot average.
