6. What do your parents/children (delete as applicable) think of your job?
My family think it’s a fun thing to do for living which it totally is! I sometimes take my cousin to gigs cos she’s such a laugh hang out with. You shoulda seen her face when I told her we were going to Glastonbury to do a gig!
7. What’s the worst thing about being a comedian?
Having to drive all over the country to do gigs which is why I don’t! It seems to take the fun out of the job having to sit in traffic. I’d much rather be looking out the window of a train with a sandwich and a podcast - even if it is cold!
8. I think you are very good at what you do (that’s why I’m asking these questions). What do you think of you?
I think you can tell I’m having a riot on stage which I totally am. I always think of the gig as ‘our’ gig, mine and the audience’s cos we’re having a laugh together.
9. How much do you earn and how much would you like to earn?
Enough is Enough! If I can’t get a Barbra Streisand song into a questionnaire who can?
10. How important is luck in terms of career success – have you had lucky breaks?
I think getting to be on TV early on is a great learning curve and a good launching pad to give people a flavour of what you do.
11. Alan Davies has said that comedians fall into two categories - golfers and self-harmers. The former just get on with life, the latter are tortured artists. Which are you – or do you think you fit into a third category?
I think I fall into the golfing category but I’d much rather it was crazy golf - I reckon that would be much more fun.
12. Who is your favourite person ever and why – not including family or friends or other comedians?
Joanna Lumley! She’s a pleasure to listen to, very articulate, comes across as really sincere and down-to-earth and by all accounts seems great fun to have around.
13. Do you keep your drawers tidy and if not why not? (please think long and hard about this question, it's to settle an argument with my girlfriend. The future of our relationship could depend on your response).
Oh my god my drawers are shipshape and Bristol fashion! Can you imagine if they weren’t? I’d have to give my gay badge back!
