News: Mark Lamarr Charged With Common Assault & False Imprisonment

Comedian and DJ Mark Lamarr has been charged with common assault and false imprisonment, the Metropolitan Police has said.

The former host of BBC pop quiz Never Mind The Buzzcocks (pictured) was charged on 1 September in London.

The 51-year-old, born Mark Jones, is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrate's Court on 2 October.

Lamarr presented Never Mind The Buzzcocks between 1996 and 2005. He has also been a team captain on Shooting Stars and presenter on Channel 4's The Big Breakfast and The Word and a BBC Radio 2 DJ.
