Christmas is clearly not far away now. Knebworth House, near Stevenage, is holding a winter festival next weekend  where you can shop until you drop, and then eat, drink or join in with a singalng screening of The Greatest Showman.

Comedy fans, however, can get their fix with an excellent mini-festival over two nights. There are early evening shows from Mark Steel (Friday) and The Improv All Stars (Saturday) and then two really top-rate mixed bills to finish off each evening in style.

On Friday night Greg Davies, currently riding high with Taskmaster, tops a line-up that also includes Britain's Got Talent star Daliso Chaponda and Jen Brister.

And on Saturday night Rhod Gilbert, who is also one of the stars of the current Taskmaster, is joined by Angela Barnes and Jarred Christmas.

The compere on both nights is Barry Castagnola, who has dug deep into his contacts book to put these gigs together. A truly stately line-up for this stately home.
