News: BBC Defends Fin Taylor's Bomb Glastonbury Joke On TV Show

Viacom Digital Studios International (VDSI) has announced two new Comedy Central International short form series, “Bad Cramps” launching today, December 10, and “Laughing at Salad,” which will launch in January. The network has also greenlit three additional titles, “Fin Taylor’s Bullshit Bingo” Season 2, “Josh Investigates” Season 3 and a new scripted show, “Waiting.”

As Comedy Central International continues to invest in its digital content with the expanded slate, the network is also boosting its female-focused programming. Led by female comedians, the new slate is as follows:

  • “Bad Cramps:” Georgie Fuller and Danni Jackson - stars of Comedy Central’s digital short form “Bad Snappers”- are returning to Comedy Central for the new scripted series, “Bad Cramps.” “Bad Snappers” amassed 16 million views, won Breakthrough Web Series at the Funny Women Awards in the U.K. and led to a localized version in the Middle East. Now the duo is back with a sexy, raucous and completely inappropriate take on everything from one-night stands to heavy periods. The series’ six five-minute episodes are now available on Comedy Central UK’s YouTube and Facebook pages, with additional regional releases planned in the coming weeks.
  • “Laughing at Salad:” Debuting in January 2019, the nine-part sketch series will feature an unstoppable all-female line up, including Maddie Rice, Beth Rylance, Bronwyn James, Danielle Vitalis and Elinor Lawless. Each sketch is written by different female writers, including Harriet Kemsley, Sarah Morgan, Gemma Arrowsmith, Kat Butterfield, Cassie Atkinson and more. Topics covered include death threats, how to deal with a hangover and surviving the hen party from hell. The series was made in house, and was produced and directed by Lucy Forbes, and will be released on Comedy Central International’s YouTube and Facebook pages in January 2019.

In addition, Comedy Central greenlit the following short-form series, all of which will begin development in January and be released internationally on Facebook and YouTube:

·         “Waiting:” Ryan Sampson, star of Plebs and Up the Women is writing a ten part scripted series for Comedy Central in which two characters are stuck waiting in various different scenarios.

·         “Fin Taylor’s Bullshit Bingo” Season 2: Fin Taylor is back with a new approach to Bullshit Bingo, calling Bullshit on the world’s news and proving to everyone that no one really knows what they’re preaching about.

·         “Josh Investigates” Season 3: Influencer Josh Pieters is set to be a more topical reactive take on the show, with quick turnaround episodes discussing everything from politics to dating, Josh is back and nothing is off limits.
