Short film The Raisin, written and directed by award-winning comedian Rob Carter and produced by Sara Shulman and Tom Holloway has landed an international distribution deal.
The short comedy will launch on the online streaming service Seed and Spark and on their app on Roku and Apple TV. The Raisin is also available on ShortsTV in Europe, North America, South America and South Asia. ShortsTV is the world’s largest catalogue of high quality short movies available on TV, online and in theatres. The TV channel is the world’s first and only 24/7 HD channel dedicated to short movies.
The award-winning film is a rural romance centred around the story of one raisin and looks at the effect loneliness can have on a person when they are finally met with the opportunity for companionship. This is the debut film from Rob Carter.
The film stars Trevor Allan Davies (Game of Thrones, Kick Ass 2) and Helen Ryan (The Elephant Man).

The Raisin was selected to be part of the April Monthly Edition at the Miami Independent Film Festival 2017 and New Filmmakers Los Angeles 2018, where it was nominated for Best Short Foreign Film, Comedy.
The film played at the Cannes film Festival Court Métrage (Short Film Corner) and it was also selected to be screened at the 2017 Creative Minds Festival de Cannes Programming Block where after hundreds of submissions, the best 30 films were selected to be part of this event at the film festival.
