News: Results – LGBT+ New Comedian Of The Year Final

Comedian Charlie George has been crowned the winner of this year's LGBT+ New Comedian Of The Year Final.

The final took place at Comedy Bloomers at the Seven Dials Club in Covent Garden and the judges were Jordan Gray, David Morgan and Helen Lederer.

George posted the news on Twitter: "Baahhhh what is happening!? Worst day ever & then this mad night where I win this even though all the acts were sublime. Feeling dead grateful & super chuffed. Massive thanks to everyone at Comedy Bloomers & all the fab acts in the final. Woweeee!??? x All the love CG."

Sam Serrano and Louise Young were runners up

The winner received £250, a trophy and a comedy coaching session with Tom Allen.

The finalists were as follows:

SAM SERRANO

At the age of just 19, Sam Serrano is a rising star on the comedy circuit. Coming 2nd in the prestigious Great Yorkshire Fringe Comedian Of The Year where they received rave- "put the x in x factor" york press "laugh-out-loud funny" yorkshire post. Now they play comedy clubs all around the country and love every single second of it!  “

DARCIE SILVER

Darcie has climbed the comedy ladder quicker than most and regularly performs at prestigious clubs all over the country. With a hilarious mix of one liners and dark jokes which you can’t quite believe she’s saying she’s been described by the industry as one to watch. “Very Funny Stuff” – Russell Kane

KATIE PRICE

A self proclaimed micro aggression against the patriarchy and winner of the diabetic, stammering, dyslexic Jewish Comedian the Year Award 1996.  Judaism's answer to Katie Price; Katie Cut Price.

CARMEN ALI

Carmen Ali is a stand-up comedian, and blogger who likes playing chess and once quoted Shakespeare while giving a lap dance. Described as ‘adorably filthy’ by her friends, she talks openly about her life including sex, stripping, and strap-ons. “I was worried you were going to be crap but you were really good” – Hugh Grant (yes, really)

LOUISE YOUNG

Louise has a warmth on stage that engages the audience from the off. Her laid back style gives way to a high rate of wonderfully crafted, razor-sharp jokes that have built up her reputation as a strong comic presence.

Charlie got to the final of Pride's got talent 2018 and performed to thousands on the Pride London stage in Soho, she also got to the finals of the Leicester square new comedian award 2018 in less than a year of doing comedy.
