
The Ricky Gervais Netflix series After Life, Derry Girls, Catastrophe are among those on the shortlist for Edinburgh TV Awards. The winners will be announced at an event on on Thursday 22nd August hosted by stand-up comedian Mo Gilligan, who is nominated for a Breakthrough Talent award himself.
Hugh Laurie will also be there to receive an Outstanding Achievement Award. Laurie said: “I’d have been excited to receive an award just for sticking around - but this is overwhelming.”
The TV Awards, now in their 18th year, form one of the highlights of the TV Festival calendar. The shortlist was voted for by over 150 industry professionals and is as follows:
BEST COMEDY SERIES
This award will go to an outstanding Comedy Series. It is open to an original new concept or an established series which can be described as being at the top of its game.
