Actor Rip Torn, who famously played hard-nosed TV producer Artie in The Larry Sanders Show has died. He was 88.
In a lengthy career he also appeared in countless films including Men In Black, Dodgeball and The Man Who Fell To Earth.
Torn was originally cast in the classic movie Easy Rider but was replaced by Jack Nicholson.
Writer/Director Albert Brooks tweeted: "R.I.P Rip Torn. He was so great in Defending Your Life. I'll miss you Rip, you were a true original."
Comedian Tom Green tweeted: "Just heard the sad news that the great Rip Torn has passed away. Rip was a class act. He was an incredible actor. One of the greats. A true legend. I am proud to have worked with him and to have known him. Rest in peace Rip."
