
Renowned actor Freddie Jones has died. He was 91.
He was best known to recent soap viewers as Sandy Thomas In Emmerdale, which was a part he had played since 2005. But he also had a huge number of film credits, including playing Bytes in The Elephant Man. The director David Lynch also cast him in Dune and Wild at Heart.
He also appeared in a number of classic comedies. He was Mr. Sparklipegs in a 1972 episode of the Goodies entitled Charity Bounce.
His son is actor Toby Jones, most recently seen in comedy Don’t Forget The Driver.
He also won fans in spooky children's series The Ghosts Of Motley Hall in 1976 (pictured far right).
