The Leicester Comedy Festival line-up has just been announced, boasting the likes of Stewart Lee, Jo Brand and Count Arthur Strong.
Most of the major names are playing regular comedy venues and theatres but one performer is playing the perfect site-specific venue for his autobiographical show.
Richard Scott is performing his Edinburgh Fringe show Right Hand Man at the Richard III Visitors Centre on Saturday, February 8 at 7pm. The late king's bones were unearthed in a Leicester car park in 2013.
And by coincidence Stott has a condition called Poland Syndrome, which has resulted in a malformed hand and lopsided stature – the same physicality that Richard III was known for.
Stott has even been performing a routine about their similarities onstage for a number of years (see below) and how he should be cast in the regal role made famous by Laurence Olivier. He says: "I find the poetry too good to be true to be performing feet away from his final burial spot."
