Two familiar television faces have died in the run-up to Christmas. Kenny Lynch has died aged 81 and Nicky Henson has died aged 74.

Lynch was a familiar face on television shows in the 1960s and 1970s and in 2018 appeared in the reality TV show Last Laugh In Vegas (pictured). He worked regularly with fellow golfing fan Jimmy Tarbuck.

Nicky Henson will be best remembered by comedy fans as lothario Mr Johnson in the Fawlty Towers episode The Psychiatrist. He also appeared in seminal satire show The Frost Report.

Lynch's family broke the news of his death on Twitter: "Saddened to share this news with you all. Sadly our dad passed away in the early hours this morning. He will be remembered & missed by many. We would like to say a massive thank you to the NHS & the people at Sue Ryder for all their support. Bye Dad, we will love you always!"

Danny Baker paid tribute on Twitter: "Kenny Lynch has died. Huge talent, a pioneer and tremendous company. One of the key witnesses to the 20th UK music/entertainment scene he had a million stories. Yet one of the cagiest interviewees when on air. Wasn't interested in his 'place' in pop culture. He was there."
