New ITV1 entertainment series The Masked Singer has proved to be a major hit.

The format, in which a panel has to guess who the crooning celebrities are under their outrageous costumes, has been a social media sensation. Even people who hate the show have constantly been online trying to find out who the singers are.

So far the two names revealed have been Patsy Palmer and Alan Johnson.

Speculation has been rife about who else has been on the show, which is hosted by Joel Dommett, with names being thrown into the mix including Jason Manford, Jack Whitehall and John Barrowman.

Some people are convinced that Barrowman was the 'masked' unicorn. During the launch show of ITV1's Dancing On Ice Holly Willoughby asked judge Barrowman: "Right John Barrowman I’m only going to ask you this once. Are you or are you not moonlighting as a Kate Bush loving Unicorn?"

Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Davina McCall and Hollywood actor and comedian, Ken Jeong, who also appears on the panel of The Masked Singer in the US, are the panellists in the studio. Twitter has been awash with people wondering how Jeong knows the names of minor British celebs.
