Fresh from the launch of his brand new live show The Chocolate Chip, Dane Baptiste’s hit podcast - Dane Baptiste Questions Everything - has been snapped up by the world’s biggest podcast company Acast.
Fronted by Dane Baptiste & producer Howard Cohen, in each episode they are joined by a special guest from the world of film, TV, media and comedy, to pose the questions that need to be asked. Previous guests have included Katherine Ryan, Scroobius Pip, Dr Shirley Thompson, Gary Younge, Reggie Yates, Trisha Goddard, Mo Gilligan and Richard Osman. The podcast also featured at Latitude Festival 2019 and its first live show was a total sell out.
The deal solidifies Baptiste’s place as one of the UK’s most exciting comedy stars. The London born stand up made comedy history in 2014 as the first black British act to be nominated for a Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His extensive credits since have included everything from hosting Live at the Apollo (BBC Two) and Live from the Comedy Store (Comedy Central), to appearing on Tonight at the London Palladium (ITV1), Mock the Week (BBC Two), Live from the BBC (BBC Two), 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4) as well as creating and writing his own BBC sitcom, Sunny D, currently under development for US remake.
Responding to the commission Dane said “I’m ecstatic to be joining the Acast network; being a part of their alumni of shows represents a great opportunity and honour, I have no question that the future is bright.”
Producer Howard Cohen said “Dane is a unique voice in the world right now and this is a unique podcast, so in working with Acast we can bring the show and its questions to a whole new world of listeners”.
Acast’s Mike Wooller said "Acast is home to the world's best podcasts, and we're especially proud of the comedy talent we have on our network. We're huge fans of Dane and Howard, so couldn't be happier by welcoming them to our roster of podcasters"
