The BBC has decided to broadcast the episode of Rhod Gilbert's Work Experience series in which he is a carer early as a tribute to those looking after our loved ones.
It wll now go out on Friday, April 17 at 9.30pm on BBC Wales and will be available for all to watch on iPlayer straight after.
Gilbert says: "I have been wanting to film a ‘Work Experience’ episode as a Carer for years…and before the Covid-19 outbreak, our little team made it happen. It was not due to be on TV for a while, as part of the next series of ‘Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience', but the timing feels right, right now.
It was very emotional when we filmed it. Not least because my dad is in a fantastic care home, and my mother died of Alzheimers a few years ago. During filming I was privileged enough to spend a few days helping the staff at a home in Barry, South Wales.
When we filmed it last year, I felt that Carers were one of the least valued and most valuable members of our society; that is no longer in question. I hope you enjoy the programme. To all our Carers, thank you. We owe you everything."
