Comedians and friends Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett are launching a new podcast aimed at bringing together famous friends and fellow parents to share the highs and lows of being a parent during the lockdown.
In each episode of Lockdown Parenting Hell, Rob (who is on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday, November 7, on ITV1) and Josh will chat with a celebrity guest to discuss the trials and tribulations of parenthood in lockdown. How they’re coping. Any tips and parenting life hacks they can pass on. What’s the best and worst moment of parenting under the lockdown for you? It’s an honest, funny, entertaining and insightful look at what it is really like to be a parent in the current climate, and the perfect antidote to the impossibly aspirational social media depictions of parenting.
Guests will include Katherine Ryan, Elis James & Isy Suttie, Alex Horne, Jon Richardson, Jonathan Ross, Mile Jupp, Jason Manford, Kerry Godliman, Alison Hammond. Plus the presenters will share listener stories and tales of real-life parenting woe. Lockdown Parenting Hell will run twice a week and will be available on all major podcast networks including Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Widdicombe and Beckett have already tasted podcast success with their hit shows Quickly Kevin, Will He Score? and The Magic Sponge, and the medium itself has seen a 7% increase in listeners since March 21st. The show is the third new release under Widdicombe’s podcast company Keep It Light Media, following releases with comedians Jon Richardson (Jon Richardson and the Futurenauts: Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse) and Suzi Ruffell’s hit LGBT+ show Out with Suzi Ruffell. The company will officially launch later this year, with over 20 new shows set to feature some of the biggest names in British comedy, sports and entertainment.
