Jason Manford has thanked listeners of his Absolute Radio show, after radio listening (RAJAR) figures released today revealed a record audience of people tuning in. 661,000 people listen to the show across the Absolute Radio Network, with a nearly 20% rise in people in the last year tuning into the main station to listen.
Meanwhile his Absolute Radio colleague Frank Skinner also has cause to celebrate, with growth across his Saturday morning radio show up by 14%. The comedian has been keeping busy in lockdown, recording a new podcast series called ‘Frank Skinner’s Poetry Podcast’ to much critical acclaim.
Speaking about his Absolute Radio results, Jason Manford said “I’m so chuffed that more and more listeners are finding our little Sunday morning radio show. Radio is more important than ever in these difficult times, and I hope my show gives people a break from what’s going on outside.
“It’s just a simple recipe of great music, great guests and daft chat of nonsense of absolutely no consequence. People know they can tune in and be confident that there’ll be nowt serious being discussed, we are proudly a politics/Brexit/Boris/Covid free zone! I can’t thank the listeners enough for these record figures. It’s an honour and a privilege to chat to you every week.
Jason recently took part in Absolute Radio’s VE Day activity which saw them launch a pop-up 1940s station. The station played 1940s music all day, with historical content, news bulletins and special guests; including an interview with Captain Tom Moore.
The Jason Manford Show is on Absolute Radio every Sunday from 8am. The Frank Skinner Show every Saturday morning from 8am. Catch-up right now on absoluteradio.co.uk
