Eddie Izzard is to perform his acclaimed show Wunderbar at the Drive-In Club in Brent Cross, North London on Sunday 26th July.
“It is great to be able to get out and do stand-up again. Do come and enjoy in the comfort of your own car,” says Izzard.
Izzard is the latest comedian to add his name to the list of acts that are set to appear live on stage at The Drive-In Club. Daniel Sloss made history by playing the first post-lockdown live gigs there with three shows on July 3 - 5. Upcoming shows include Jason Manford, Nish Kumar, Bill Bailey, Daliso Chaponda, Ashley Blaker, Stephen K Amos, Rachel Parris, Adam Kay, Jonathan Pie, Omid Djalili, Luisa Omielan, Marcus Brigstocke, Milton Jones, Ed Byrne, Reginald D Hunter and Shappi Khorsandi.
Izzard has a stellar reputation as a film, television, and stage actor. His performance in Dress to Kill earned him a New York Drama Desk Award and two Emmy® Awards.
He has also achieved great success with his comedy stand up shows. Izzard made his West End stage debut in 1993 in his one-man show Live at the Ambassadors, for which he received an Olivier Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement. This was followed by a succession of critically acclaimed live shows including Unrepeatable, Definite Article, Glorious, Dress to Kill, Circle, Sexie and Stripped and Force Majeure. Force Majeure became the biggest comedy tour ever (we think!) playing in over 30 countries and in all 50 US states.
He recently received critical acclaim for his performance alongside Judi Dench in the film, Victoria and Abdul. Other highlights from Izzard’s film career include Valkyri
On television, Izzard was last seen in the Sony PlayStation Network superhero fantasy and crime noir series, Powers. He also recently captivated audiences with his masterful performance as ‘Dr. Abel Gideon’ in Bryan Fuller’s series, Hannibal. Izzard also starred in and served as a producer on the critically acclaimed FX Networks series, The Riches. His other notable television credits include Castles in the Sky, Treasure Island, and Lost Christmas.
