Canadian comedian John Hastings, who spends a large part of his time gigging in the UK, has appeared on America's Got Talent.
The show was filmed under the shadow of Covid19, however, and Hastings had to perform for only the judges and the crew as they were tearing down the set and heading for shelter to wait out the lockdown.
Hastings, 34 and currently based in LA according to the show, has been performing standup since 2006. He won the Montreal Comedy Festival Homegrown Comedy Competition and was called "one to watch" by the Comedy Network. He was one of the only Canadian finalists of the San Francisco Comedy Competition and the youngest comedian to appear at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival.
He still seems to have done pretty well on AGT despite the odd situation. "This is the weirdest gig I have done in my life," he tells Simon Cowell and co.
