The date has been revealed for the new Katherine Ryan comedy The Duchess.

The comedy will stream on Netflix from September 11.

In the series Ryan, who has also written the show, will play a “fashionably disruptive single mom” trying to juggle her job, her family and her romantic life. Her daughter, Olive, is her greatest love, but Ryan's character is debating whether to have a second child with her greatest enemy, Olive’s dad. The are elements of the UK-based star's real life in the situation. In reality Ryan is a single mother whose daughter's name is Violet.

The series also stars Australian comedian Steen Raskopoulos.

Ryan has acted before – she appeared in the Dane Baptiste BBC Three comedy Sunny D – but this is her biggest acting role yet.

The UK-based Canadian will also be one of the executive producers.
