Catching up with the American version of The Office during lockdown and came across this example of two sitcom worlds colliding brilliantly. "The Seminar" is the fourteenth episode of the seventh series of the NBC version. It first aired on  January 27, 2011. 

The episode begins with Michel Scott (Steve Carell) bumping into David Brent as Brent comes out of a lift (that's elevator to any Americans reading this). They exchange politically incorrect gags and Brent asks if Scott's firm Dunder Mifflin is hiring. Michael says "not right now"...
