The actor Geoffrey Palmer has died. He was 93.

Palmer was famous for his performances in countless sitcoms including As Time Goes By, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, Butterflies, Fairly Secret Army, Fawlty Towers, The Goodies and more.

He also appeared in films including Tomorrow Never Dies, Mrs Brown, A Fish Called Wanda and The Madness of King George.

He was awarded an OBE in 2004.
