Last Leg star Adam Hills has been named as an Ambassador for the Rugby League World Cup 2021.
Hills tweeted the good news: "I’m so honoured to be an Ambassador for @RLWC2021, excited to promote the sport, and so impressed with what Rugby League does for the Community."
The Australian stand-up comedian is also a rugby player himself, having turned out for the Warrington Wolves in the Physical Disability Rugby League. He is even hoping to play in next year's PDRL World Cup, but has to make the decision who to play for. He told the Guardian: “I’m Australian and of course I want to play for my country. But most of the guys playing for England are my mates. So I don’t know what to do. I was talking to {former England full-back} Shaun Briscoe about it. And he said: 'Well, it’s a very simple choice. Would you rather represent your country or win the World Cup?’”
The Last Leg is on C4, Fridays at 10pm.
