News: Martin Lambie-Nairn Has Died

The death has been announced of Martin Lambie-Nairn, the designer who was involved in the start in satirical show Spitting Image in the 1980s. He was 75.

Lambie-Nairn also created instantly recognisable idents for the BBC and Channel 4.

His design agency ML-N described him in a statement as "one of the leading graphic designers and creative directors of his generation. His exceptional work, kindness and infectious creative spirit touched the lives of so many people. He will be hugely missed by everyone who had the privilege to work alongside him over the years."

He was also involved in the creation of Spitting Image with John Lloyd, Roger Law and and Peter Fluck. The credits said that the series was "based on an original lunch" with Martin Lambie-Nairn. It was said that he proposed the idea of a puppet-based satirical show to producer John Lloyd.
