This week's guests on Would I Lie To You? come from the world of comedy but also from the world of reality TV and the world of sport.
Host Rob Brydon and regulars David Mitchell and Lee Mack are joined by award-winning stand-up Maisie Adam, who is rapidly becoming one of the most popular new faces on TV. Adam was also on QI this week and currently does the voiceover for ITV2 series The Cabins, which has been compared to Love Island. And talking of Love Island another guest on tonght's show is Love Island presenter and team captain on Celebrity Juice, Laura Whitmore, who, incidentally, married boyfriend, Love Island voiceover man, comedian Iain Stirling in 2020. They are currently expecting their first child.
Another guest this week is Chris McCausland. Liverpudlian comedian McCausland has been busy TV-wise recently, particularly given what we've all been going through. You could say he is the funniest blind observational comedian in the country at the moment. He has been on Have I Got News for You, Live at the Apollo, Mock The Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. He should have been on tour in 2020, but inevitably that has been postponed until 2021. You can see his new dates here.
And then there's a curve ball of a guest, or maybe that should be cue ball. Snooker legend Stephen Hendry, who turned 52 this week, is best known these days as a snooker pundit, but the former World Champion has recently been talking about making a comeback and playing again.
The Scottish icon, who was World Champion seven times, retired in 2012, but plans to return. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to enter some tournaments over the coming two seasons,” he said. He later announced that he would be back when crowds are allowed back to tournaments.
It's a good mix – though of course it could do with more female comics – but they have some tough acts to follow. Bob Mortimer has pretty much owned the show when he has appeared on it, spinning out his stories about Chris Rea, eggs, halving apples with his bare hands and doing his own dentistry. You can see some of Bob's finest moments here and here.
James Acaster has also been a star of the show, particularly with his tale of what the Kettering Fire Brigade gets up to in its Boxing Day downtime. See that here.
And who can forget Lee Mack and Miranda Hart sharing the same "cuddle jumper"?
