As had been widely suggested on social media, Lenny Henry has been revealed as the star who was The Blob on ITV1's The Masked Singer.
In Saturday night's show the Blob hinted at his identity when he said: "I love to cook as much as I love to sing, and it is said if music be the food of love play on." Comedian Henry has appeared onstage in a number of plays by William Shakespeare including Othello.
Other clues had included that the word 'WAISTS' was onscreen in fridge magnets in one shot. WAISTS is an anagram of TISWAS, the show Henry used to appear on with Chris Tarrant.
The 62-year-old comedian was knocked out alongside A-Ha's Morten Harket as the Viking in a double-eviction.
One suggestion by guest judge Alan Carr had been that he was Morgan Freeman. After being exposed Henry replied: "It's not Stephen Fry Jonathan. Thank you Alan for being so generous with Morgan Freeman."
After being revealed Henry said: "I've been in lockdown since March and they asked me if I wanted to do this show so I said yes. So to be with people who have been so lovely, it's been a real joy to be here."
