It has been confirmed that classic American comedy Frasier will return, with actor Kelsey Grammer reprising his lead role as psychiatrist Frasier Crane, 17 years after its last episode, having run for more than 250 episodes.
The news was confirmed as one of a number of announcements from Paramount+. The channel tweeted: "Also bringing back Frasier, one of the most highly acclaimed, most successful comedy series of all time. The revival will have everything you love about the original: coziness, great writing, and of course, a cast led by @KelseyGrammer. #ParamountPlus."
The channel also announced that: "Also for #ParamountPlus, @Trevornoah will star in and produce The Weekly Show with Trevor Noah, an initial 6-episode series looking at stories across the societal landscape and talk with the people behind the headlines."
The Hollywood Reporter reported: "Having spent over 20 years of my creative life on the Paramount lot, both producing shows and performing in several, I'd like to congratulate Paramount+ on its entry into the streaming world," said Grammer. "I gleefully anticipate sharing the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr. Frasier Crane."
