Katy Wix and Adam Drake release a brand-new podcast in which they travel up and down the country, taking their favourite people from the public eye back to the places of their youth. At each place, the guest talks through their memories (from the hilarious to the poignant), tells stories, and gives a message to their younger self.
Recorded entirely on location, Dear Me invites each guest to speak openly to their childhood self, and to draw connections between their past and present by revisiting some of the funny, moving or significant moments from their youth. The listener is invited to understand what made the guest who they are today, and how the past has shaped them, as well as to draw parallels between the guest’s stories and their own.
Three episodes of Dear Me will be released weekly, starting with Episode 1 on 8th March 2021 starring Liam Williams followed by Kiell Smith-Bynoe’s and Lou Sanders’ episodes. The following set of three will then be released in autumn.
Adam Drake said: “People like to make podcasts about their hobbies. So naturally I wanted to make one in which I get to ask nice people questions about their lives. It was so fun to be able to actually visit where our guests grew up and to really see their favourite places before they had any idea what was going to happen to them in the future.”
Katy Wix said: “I’m really excited about people hearing these mini-documentaries that we’ve lovingly crafted. They really show how, as an adult, you are never far from your inner child. None of us knows where we are going to end up as grown ups and it's so lovely to be able to go back to those poignant places that were so important to us then, without any clue what was to come. I can’t wait to make more.”
