Romesh Ranganathan is set to take over as the new regular host of Sky original show for Sky One and streaming service NOW A League Of Their Own. The comedy-fuelled panel show is back for a sixteenth series. Filming starts on 5th July at Elstree Studios with a socially distanced studio audience.
Longstanding team captains Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp return to go head-to-head again this summer. Guests this year include FA Cup winner Jamie Vardy, Olympic Gold Medallist Denise Lewis and football pundit Micah Richards with plenty more stars from the world of sports and entertainment to be announced
Romesh has been a regular panellist on the BAFTA-winning show since 2018 and will bring more of his dry wit and deadpan takedowns to proceedings.
The eight-part panel show from the producers of There’s Something About Movies, CPL Productions, a Red Arrow Studios company, returns to Sky One and streaming service NOW in August.
Due to existing work commitments James Corden is unable to appear in this series.
Romesh Ranganathan says: “I’m over the moon to be taking over the hosting duties and looking forward to being back in the studio with Jamie, Freddie, our guests and the live audience. I’m truly honoured to be the new host of such a successful show. I know Jamie and Freddie are delighted because they often talk about what a hero I am to both of them."
The sixteenth series of A League of Their Own was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content for Sky UK and Ireland and Phil Edgar-Jones, Director, Sky Arts and Head of Entertainment. The Commissioning Editor for Sky is Barbara Lee and the executive producers for CPL, a Red Arrow studios company, are David Taylor, Murray Boland and Danielle Lux. Jack Shillaker is producer.
It has also been announced this week that Romesh Ranganathan will front a true crime series for BBC television as well as hosting a series about hip hop for BBC Radio 2.
