Fresh for the 2021/22 season, Jon Richardson and Matt Forde bring you Comedians Playing Fantasy Premier League, the podcast which invites celebrity fans to compete against each other in what will be one of Fantasy Football’s most fiercely competitive leagues.
Fantasy football has been growing in stature since its humble beginnings some 50 years ago, and so much so that is has become almost a second job to many fans – of all walks of life. Jon and Matt are no exception.
Every Wednesday throughout the season, obsessives such as Rob Beckett, Richard Osman, Romesh Ranganathan, Josh Widdicombe, Nish Kumar, Emily Dean, Russell Howard, Joe Wilkinson, Alex Brooker, Tom Davis, Maisie Adam, Ivo Graham, Laura Smyth, Iain Stirling, Jason Manford, Nathan Caton and Man v Food’s Adam Richman will be joining Matt and Jon to discuss their teams, talk through the week’s football, face humiliating forfeits and experience the relentless criticism (and friendly advice of course) from the hosts. But ultimately they’ll answer the question: why on earth do they do it?
Forde said: ‘There’s nothing we love more than competing against each other in our own league - so in order to justify our FPL addiction, we’ve set up a brand new weekly podcast called Comedians Playing Fantasy Premier League Football.’
Richardson said: ’Each week we’ll follow a group of comedians competing in the world’s most competitive game. We’ll look back at the week in football and discuss how events off the pitch might affect your selections.’
