Camberley will host its second comedy festival on September 18 following a sold-out event back in 2019.
Lou Sanders, Kae Kurd, Lucy Pearman and compere Tom Deacon will all be performing to an increased capacity in a beautiful blackstar clothed marquee on the London Road Recreation Ground (which is a green field space behind the new leisure centre).
Lou Sanders is one of Britain’s fastest-rising and most original comedians. She is the champion of series eight of Taskmaster (DAVE) and other recent television appearances include The Late Late Show with James Corden (CBS), Live at the Apollo (BBC), QI (BBC2), Travel Man: 48 Hours in… (Channel 4), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), Hypothetical (DAVE), Aisling Bea’s sitcom This Way Up (C4), Roast Battle (Comedy Central), The Russell Howard Hour (Sky 1), Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier (DAVE) and Karl Pilkington’s sitcom Sick of It (Sky One).
Lou’s 2018 stand-up show Shame Pig received rave reviews, added extra shows at both the Edinburgh Fringe and sold out three separate runs at London’s Soho Theatre. The show subsequently toured and was named a top show to see by publications including The Guardian, The Scotsman, The List, The Mirror and The Evening Standard. Lou returned to Edinburgh with Say Hello To Your New Step-Mummy which again was critically-acclaimed, completely sold out, and is now on Lou’s largest UK tour to date. She has also taken the show to LA and New York and will make her solo debut at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with it in 2020. Her radio work includes regular appearances on Radio 4’s The Unbelievable Truth, and she also supported Katherine Ryan on her latest West End run and the recording of her Netflix special.
Kae Kurd is a young British-Kurdish stand up making a serious name for himself. He is recognised as one of the UK’s fastest rising comedy stars, creating and curating content across a range of platforms. His debut stand up special Kurd Your Enthusiasm was another huge success receiving over 100K views when released on YouTube, with joe.co.uk’s Creative Director noting “It’s intriguing – and exciting – that a performer with such a slick mainstream swagger is able to weave so many socio-political issues into his act.”
TV credits include Live at the Apollo (BBC Two) / Don’t Hate the Playaz (ITV2) / The Tez O’clock Show (Channel 4) / Know Your Rights (own series on Channel 4 OD) / Comedians Solve World Problems (Comedy Central) / Three Guys Eat (BBC Three) / Big Comedy Night (BBC Asian Network’s)
His brand new tour The Spoken Kurd launches Autumn 2021, with numerous shows selling out in record time.
Lucy Pearman is the co-star of Spencer Jones’ BBC BAFTA nominated creation 'The Mind of Herbert Clunkerdunk', Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer Nominee 2017, Leicester Comedy Awards Best Show Nominee 2018.
Tom Deacon has been performing live stand-up for the last 14 years – with four Edinburgh solo shows under his belt – and has been the host of his own TV, radio and online shows on BBC2, BBC Radio1, The Capital FM breakfast show, plus host of Gfinity Esports shows and YouTube football channel Copa90 – where his Eurofan escapades have notched up over 8 million views.
Tom has also made guest appearances on BBC2’s The Rob Brydon Show, Dave’s One Night Stand and ITV2’s Fake Reaction
