The eleventh series of Newsjack, the BBC’s open-door sketch show, starts tonight. This is the only topical comedy show that anyone can write for by submitting sketches and one-liners. It is on Radio 4 Extra at 10.30pm and then continues every Thursday night for 5 weeks.
Romesh Ranganathan (Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee 2014, Foster's Edinburgh Best Newcomer Award Nominee 2013 and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2013), returns to host the show. Ranganathan writes for himself in conjunction with some of the non-commissioned writers and like the previous series he’ll also be presenting a scrap-book of sketches covering the week’s stories featuring a cast which changes weekly and includes some of the best new character performers and impressionists around.
Also appearing are Lewis MacLeod, Morgana Robinson and Ellie White as well as new cast members Kieran Hodgson, Oliver Maltman, Terry Mynott, Tessa Coates, Ingrid Oliver, Freya Parker and Susy Kane. The cast will vary each week.
Details on how to submit material for the show can be found here.
