Have I Got News For You And The Cleaner Pulled Following Death Of MP David Amess

Have I Got News For You Pulled Following Death Of MP David Amess

Tonight's edition of Have I Got News For You has been pulled following the death today of MP David Amess.

The show was recorded on Thursday night and will be broadcast at a later date.

The episode was due to be broadcast at 9pm on BBC One. The guest host was Alexander Armstrong, and guest panellists were journalist and broadcaster Mishal Husain and comedian Geoff Norcott, making his debut alongside team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop.

The Cleaner has also been pulled from the BBC One schedules at 9.30pm, which makes more sense as in the comedy series Greg Davies plays someone who goes around cleaning up the bloody mess after murders.

The programmes are replaced by episodes of Would I Lie To You? and Not Going Out at 9pm and 9.30pm respectively.

If the name of Amess is familiar to comedy fans it may be because he was one of the people duped into condemning the fictional drug "cake" in the Chris Morris comedy Brass Eye in the early 1990s.
