ITV has pulled I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! from the schedules this weekend due to the stormy weather in Wales.
The broadcaster has issued this statement regarding their decision.
"Owing to technical difficulties caused by extreme weather conditions in the area, there will be no new episodes of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! will be replaced tonight and tomorrow night in the ITV schedules by compilation shows (voiced by Ant & Dec) featuring best moments from previous series."
Friday's edition was broadcast as a pre-recorded show rather than live due to the developing Storm Arwen.
Ant & Dec recorded their links early evening and these were played out during the show. The celebrities remain inside the castle which is secure and there are contingencies in place to cover all weather scenarios to ensure the safety of cast and crew.
This is the latest blow - no pun intended - to the current series following the unplanned departure this week of Richard Madeley. Madeley, one of the most popular celebrities in the camp, was taken to hospital for a check-up and despite a totally clean bill of health was unable to return to the camp in case there was a Covid risk.
