After returning for a new series last week they've saved the best for the second episode. Bob Mortimer is one of the guests alongside Angellica Bell, Suggs and Holly Willoughby..
Never mind the fishing with Paul Whitehouse. Mortimer is a veritable Wilty legend. Who can ever forget his story about aiding Grand Prix driver Damon Hill with a scotch egg/pocket meat in the run-up to a vital race. Or his previous riffs about DIY dentistry, breaking an apple in half and cracking a raw egg into his bath, a tip given to him by fellow Middlesbrough fan Chris Rea.
Basically, Bob's outtakes are probably funnier than most people's finely honed shaggy dog stories. This national treasure in waiting can make the simplest of activities sound absolutely hilarious.
Plus, of course, you can expect lots of back-and-forth banter from regulars Rob Brydon, David Mitchell and Lee Mack. Though it's a shame that on this occasion they've gone for female TV personalities Angellica Bell and Holly Willoughby, rather than female comedians.
Oh, did we mention that Bob Mortimer on it. That's right, Bob Mortimer. We can't say it enough.
And if you do like Bob Mortimer in fishing mode he and Paul Whitehouse are taking their riverside anecdotage on the road with a short tour this May.
In An Evening With Mortimer & Whitehouse Bob and Paul invite you to join them for a chat about fish, life, death and falling over.
The tour starts at Southampton Guildhall on May 11, 2022 and currently fishes, sorry, finishes on May 15 at the Hawth Theatre, Crawley, after taking in Colchester, Stevenage and Lincoln. Click the link below for full list of dates and venues..
